Help make clinical trials more convenient for future trial participants
AccessCR are supporting CT:IQ to recruit and support a community-based subcommittee for one of their projects.
CT:IQ is a non-profit organisation that works collaboratively with people in the community and research partners on projects that aim to improve clinical trials.
Their Flexible Trial Delivery Methods Project is looking at how clinical trials can be delivered more flexibly, This could mean, for example, home delivery of medications, using local blood collections services and pharmacies, or even home nursing visits.
We know the way that many people experience clinical trials is through visits to hospitals and clinics, and these visits can be inconvenient for some people causing them not to take part in the trial, or drop out of the trial early.
The project team (which includes members of the community) think it would be helpful to have more diverse community perspectives on the methods being identified, and so are recruiting a short term community-based subcommittee with broad life experiences. This subcommittee will discus what ‘flexible trial delivery’ might mean to trial participants and the practical implications of different methods.
This subcommittee will meet online in mid Jun and early July virtually, and in between time independently brainstorm ideas or review materials. There may be another meeting if needed later to review how the project team incorporates the subcommittee’s work.
If you have participanted in or cared for/supported someone in a clinical trial, then please consider expressing interest in joining this subcommittee. We are looking for 6-8 people with different health interests and motivations, and from a broad spectrum of life experiences so that we can consider how the practicalities these methods for people might change for people living in different ways, with different influences..
To learn more about this subcommittee, we invite you to review this 4min invitation video and review the sub-committee's Terms of Reference.
Expressions of Interest are due by 30 May 2025.
To submit your expression of interest, please either:
* Complete the online form which is mainly multiple choice questions; OR
* Complete the online form which has more free text questions; OR
* Email Janelle, AccessCR to arrange a time to speak virtually about your trial and life experiences.
We hope you will consider joining this subcommittee and working with us to make a difference to the way people experience taking part in trials in the future.
