On the 13th August, we celebrated the crowning of the inaugural AccessCR Australian Consumer Partnerships in Research 2025 Awards in an online ceremony, live and free for all to attend. A recording of the ceremony will be available shortly on our YouTube channel, along with the finalists presentations and all the entrants videos (that consent to sharing them).
We would like to thank everyone that was played a role in these Awards, and congratulate the winning teams, as below.
Category A – Excellence in Consumer Partnership in Non-Commercial Research
This Award recognises outstanding examples of meaningful consumer partnership across any or all stages of research projects or research-related activities in the non-commercial sector in Australia.
People’s Choice Award Winner: CoACT: Brain Cancer Research Project - Consumer Partnership Initiative
People's Choice Runner up: The RADIANT Study: A consumer-led project to address weight stigma in maternity care
Judge's Choice Award Winner: The Feelings Program Team
Judge's Choice Runner Up: Consumer-led VR Wheelchair Simulator Project
Category C - Excellence in Consumer Partner Capacity Building
This award recognises outstanding examples of meaningful efforts to improve the capacity and confidence of consumers and researchers to partner.
People’s Choice Award Winner: GeneEQUAL Team
People's Choice Runner up: The Global FSHD Foundation’s project to co-design of a patient led registry
Judge's Choice Award Winner: Parent Partner – NHMRC CTC, University of Sydney
Judge's Choice Runner Up: Enhancing Cultural Empathy in Diabetes Education
Category D – Excellence in Research Participant Experience
This award seeks out initiatives, teams, projects, etc that result in a respectful, satisfying, ”gold-class” research participant experience (in the eyes of the participants).
Judge's Choice Award Winner: RADIANT Photovoice: A transformative online community experience
Category E – Outstanding Individual Consumer Impact on Health and Medical Research
This award seeks to celebrate individuals that have made a significant and sustained impact on research in general, or the specific research projects and teams they have worked with.
Judge's Choice Award Winner: Ahlia Griffiths
Category F – Outstanding Consumer Advisory Group Impact on Health and Medical Research
This award seeks to celebrate groups of consumers, that have been working together for a minimum of 1 year with a specific remit, that have made a significant and sustained impact on research in general, or the specific research projects and teams they have worked with.
