From 9am, 23 June, you are invited to vote on your favourite entry

for a People's Choice Award.

Voting ends 24 July, 11:59pm AEST.

From 23 June - 24 July 2025, the public are invited to view and vote for their favourite entries for a People's Choice Award.

The top 10 entries in the following 3 categories of the #CPIR2025Awards have been selected for the public vote:

  • A - Excellence in Consumer Partnership in Non-Commercial Research.  This Award recognises outstanding examples of meaningful consumer partnership across any or all stages of research projects or research-related activities in the non-commercial sector in Australia.

  • C - Excellence in Consumer Partner Capacity Building. This award recognises outstanding examples of meaningful efforts to improve the capacity and confidence of consumers and researchers to partner.

  • F - Outstanding Consumer Advisory Group Impact on Health and Medical Research.  This award celebrates groups of consumers that have made a significant and sustained impact on research in general, or the specific research projects and teams they have worked with.

While there was excellence demonstrated in other categories too, there were insufficient entries to warrant public voting in those categories.  We will provide an update on Categories B, D and E in July, at the time finalists for the Awards are announced.

How to vote?

Voting is relatively simple.

1. Visit the Awards platform and register. Registered users will be able to vote for 1 entry per category, and only once for any entry.

2. Once signed in (between 23Jun-24Jul), review the entries and vote for your favourite in each category.

For each entry, you will be able to see the 3 min video submitted, the individuals and organisations affiliated with that entry, and any supplementary information from the entrant or their referee (nominee) about the entry that was not able to be included in their video.

There are many reasons you might choose to vote for an entry - perhaps you know the team involved or like their organisations, perhaps you like the project they have been involved in, or perhaps there was some other special quality to the entry that makes you think them deserving of the People's Choice Award. It is really up to you. However, if you are looking for a framework to help make your choice, the following 3 questions might help:

          * Is this a better example of genuine, authentic, respectful partnership between health consumers and researchers than other entries?

          * Is this entry having a positive impact on research or the population groups it aimed to serve, more than other entries?

          * Is this entry a more excellent role model for consumer partnership in research to learn from or be inspired by than other entries?

For noting, you do not need to vote in every category if you don't wish to.

Then, don't forget to also register from 23 June for the live event on the 12-13 August to learn more from the finalists about their work, and hear who wins the Awards.

Finally, if you become intrigued as to how you might be able to contribute to research, sign up for our CCReW newsletters (each sent monthly) with opportunities to Participate in, or Partner in, Research. Or, contact your local health service, university or research institute to ask how you can get involved in their research as a participant or a consumer partner.
