AccessCR strives to give a voice to, connection and support to CCReW members. These are some of the following ways we currently provide that support.
We understand the value for health consumers in attending scientific and medical conferences and events. Such events provide a critical opportunity to learn more about a health condition, research, methodology and more, as well as network with the clinicians, scientists, researchers and broader industry working to make lives better and longer for patients, carers and their families.
Not only do we advocate to make more patient inclusive conferences (#ptinclusiveconf), we want to provide practical support to help qualified consumers get to conferences to advance their capacity to contribute to research. As such, we fundraise and work with our CCReW supporters to create a pool of funding to support consumer attendance at conferences.

Each fortnight, we let you know about the trials that have just opened to recruitment in Australia, the consumer involvement opportunities and events we become aware of related to medical research, clinical trials, and therapeutic development and stories about AccessCR's advocacy or CCReW member/supporter activities.
Outside of this website, we share information via our socials.
Our primary social channel for engagement and building awareness and understanding of clinical trials is our Research4Me Facebook page. As a tip, search that page for #TrialsTues posts which will share many different resources and stories to improve understanding of clinical trials participation.
Through this page, you can also request to join our private Facebook group for consumers and research professionals interested in connecting, sharing and discussing issues and opportunities pertinent to health and medical research, clinical trials and consumer involvement in those activities. Anyone with a willingness to be respectful, learn and contribute is welcome to join.
Do you need help finding a clinical trial? Have you a general question about participating in a trial? Do you need some general advice on where to go for help while taking part in a trial? Are you looking for information/support around being a consumer partner in research?
We are actively seeking philanthropic funding and corporate sponsors for a clinical trials helpline for the community, to give general support to those looking for, taking part in, and contributing to research, and to connect them with the information or other organisations they might find useful.
In the first instance, please email ccrew@accesscr.com.au for support. And if you don't have ready access to or confidence with email, please phone 1800TRIALS. If we don't answer (as it is currently manned on a limited basis), please leave a message with your name, phone number, question and availability for a callback, and AccessCR will aim to contact you within 24hours (Monday-Friday).
